Brazil in September
We packed everything into 2 backpacks and made our way to Rio at the end of September. We stayed for about 12 days and spent some of our time in a small colonial coastal town about 4 hours west of Rio called Paraty. It was very beautiful--lots of small islands, beautiful quiet beaches, and we got to visit a distillery that makes cachaça (the liquor they use to make caipirinhas (I can't even count how many of those I had during this trip, other than water, that's all we drank--and for those of you who visit us frequently, yes, I can make them).
After about 4 days we left Paratay for Buzios, about 2 hours north east of Rio it's a small town popularized by Brigitte Bardot in the 1960s.
Overall, it was an awesome trip and we highly recommend it to anyone.
